Who can resist chocolate? Who can resist M&Ms? Not me.
I recently came across an advertisement in a magazine where you can add your logo and/or tag line on an M&M. What a great idea!
You can purchase them in bulk, or have them prepacked in customized packaging. I wouldn’t mind receiving a package of M&Ms from a few of my clients!
They don’t stop there. You can customize an M&M for a wedding, holiday, or other special occasion.

I had a wonderful time at the eWomen Luncheon in Campbell, CA today. There were LOTS of wonderful people that I met and came away with a stack full of new business contacts to add to my networking database. For information about eWomen Network at www.eWomenNetwork.com.
The guest speaker, Mike Robbins, was great and funny. Everyone enjoyed his presentation. He wrote a book entitled, “Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken: Transform Your Life with the Power of Authenticity.” He expressed that we shouldn’t be afraid to be ourselves; be authentic. You can find out more about Mike Robbins at www.BeYourselfBook.com.
I have been an eWomen member for more than a year and I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking to add a new group to their social networking schedule. I especially enjoy eWomen’s unique way in getting everyone to interact and meet in groups. If you ever would like to attend an eWomen meeting, let me know and I will send an introduction to the Managing Director.
If you have other social networking groups that you enjoy attending, please let me know.
Have you ever sent an email and thought, “Boy, it would be nice if I knew that so-and-so received my email”; instead of wondering if your email got caught up in spam?
In most email accounts there is an Option menu where you can select a “Request a read receipt for this message.” Way back when, I used to have a default setting to notify me of read receipts on all outgoing emails, but then my Inbox became much more out of control. Now I only select the Read Option on emails that I need to know if the recipient received it.
Here is how you do it:
When composing an email in Outlook, select the Options menu. This will bring you to a “behind the scene” menu for your email. Then select the box next to “Request a read receipt for this message.” When the recipient opens your email, they will be asked to confirm receipt. If they select yes, then a receipt will automatically be emailed to you. However, the recipient does have the option to select no, which then defeats the reason why you wanted a read receipt in the first place.
You can also select the box under Options entitled “Request a delivery receipt for this message.” But this will only notify you when the has been received by the recipient’s email server, and does not mean they read the email.
I am currently reading The E-Myth Manager by Michael Gerber and came across a quote that I have heard him repeat in interviews and state in his other books that I want to share with you. I just love it!
“Most businesses are started by Entrepreneurs; the truth is that most businesses are started by Technicians suffering from an entrepreneurial seizure.”
I had the pleasure of attending a Girls in Tech networking meeting last night with a “Fireside Chat with Veronica Belmont” at NextSpace in Santa Cruz. They are a great bunch of people.
At the meeting, I met the folks at 12Seconds. They have a really cool concept, sort of a “Video Facebook.” You can take videos with your mobile phone or web cam to upload 12 second short video clips to share with your friends and family.
Check out some of the 12Second video clips taken at the Girls in Tech meeting. You might find someone you recognize in one of the videos. http://12seconds.tv/find/girlsintech
I read today online that AirTran became the first airline to test WiFi service on their Baltimore/Washington flight. They will charge $12.95 for a “Gogo Flight Pass” that covers both laptops and mobile devices on flights of three hours or longer. For flights less than three hours, the fee drops to $9.95. They also offer a “Mobile Flight Pass” for $7.95 which only covers mobile phone devices. One would have thought that the larger airlines would have beat AirTran to the punch. Delta, American Airlines, and United Airlines are expected to offer WiFi service on domestic flights later this year.
The one problem a passenger might have is the life of their laptop battery. It may not last a three hour flight. I am lucky if my Toshiba lasts 2 hours. I came across an article in an airline magazine several years back which advertised device which will charge a laptop by plugging it into the headset outlet provided at every seat. I will search for the article when I return to Boulder at the end of May and provide an update.
